Not only has Amazon updated its Amazing Fire TV Stick for 2016 and reduced its price, they also included the Alexa Voice Remote.

Amazon’s Fire TV Stick is Chromecast-like device with a slight difference. The Amazon Fire TV stick has it’s own interface and remote control.  The new Fire TV Stick is available for pre-order now and is not only 30% faster than the original Fire TV Stick, but it also comes with an Alexa-equipped voice remote.

Previously the Fire TV Stick with a voice-controlled remote started at $49.99, Amazon has reducing the price and improved overall functionality.  The new Fire TV Stick features a MediaTek Quad-core ARM 1.3 GHz processor, improved WiFi that now supports 802.11ac MIMO, and Alexa voice control, to get you everything from your favorite shows, to news and weather, food delivery, shopping lists, and Uber rides.

To make things even more enticing, if you buy the new Fire TV Stick and activate it before October 31, Amazon will give you up to $65 in free content from Sling TV, Hulu, and Amazon Video.

As for storage, the updated Amazon Fire TV Stick has not been upgraded from the previous incarnation and comes with 1GB of on-board memory and 8GB of additional storage for Apps and Data.  For anyone wanting to add lots of apps or even side-load programs like Kodi for even more entertainment, this space is a little limiting.

There’s also the competition.  Everyone is refreshing their devices for 2016 and one of the key areas is adding support for 4K video.  While Amazon has bigger devices to give you your 4K fix, Google has added 4K support to their Chromecast, but this also means you’ll be paying a premium.  For the features included  in the Fire TV stick and the price, it really is a great deal.

Pre-orders have already started and they expect to ship by October 20. Use the link below to make your purchase.
